1. INTRODUCTION

Fall of Pentapolis ("the Game") is a free-to-play, online co-op beat-'em-up set in the Kingdom of Light universe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you play the Game on mobile devices.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the GDPR, the CCPA, and other applicable privacy laws.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Fall of Pentapolis is designed to be played without creating a traditional account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number to play.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Player nickname β€” a display name you choose for the leaderboard, friends, and co-op lobbies. Do not use your real name if you wish to stay anonymous.
  • Friend connections β€” friend requests you send or accept (identified by nickname).
  • In-game chat β€” short messages you send during a co-op session. Chat is processed in real time: it is automatically filtered for offensive language, relayed to the other players in your party, and shown briefly above your character. Chat messages are not stored on our servers β€” they are not saved to any database or chat history.
  • Reports you file β€” if you report another player for abuse, we store the report (the player you reported, the reason, and the time) so we can review it and act on it.
  • Players you block β€” your block list is saved with your settings so blocked players stay hidden across sessions.

2.2 Information Created by Playing

  • Anonymous device identifier β€” a random ID generated on your device the first time you launch the Game. It anchors your progress to your device so you keep your XP and leaderboard entry between sessions. It is not linked to your real identity.
  • Game progression β€” level, experience, attributes, unlocked heroes and items, in-game currency, stage progress, and trophies.
  • Leaderboard data β€” your nickname and score/progress, shown to other players on public leaderboards.
  • Daily login streak β€” to award daily rewards.
  • Co-op session data β€” while you play co-op, real-time gameplay state (positions, actions, health) is relayed between you and the other players in your party so the shared game stays in sync. The session is hosted on one player's device; our server relays and validates it.
  • Purchase records β€” if you buy Game Points, Google Play sends us a record of the transaction (the product purchased, the amount of Game Points credited, a transaction identifier, and the time of purchase) so we can credit your account, verify the purchase, and prevent fraud. We never receive your payment-card number.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information β€” device type and model, operating system version, and Game version.
  • IP address β€” used to establish your network connection and route co-op traffic; not used to identify you personally.
  • Diagnostic & telemetry data β€” connection latency, frame timing, network events, and error/crash logs, used to debug and improve co-op stability.
  • Session timestamps β€” when you play, for streaks and analytics.

2.4 Information We DON'T Collect

  • Real name, email, or phone number (in the current version)
  • Credit card or payment-card numbers (purchases are handled by Google Play; we never see your card)
  • Contacts, photos, microphone, or precise GPS location
  • Advertising identifiers β€” the Game contains no ads and no third-party advertising SDKs
  • Biometric or government-ID data

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • Run the Game β€” save your progress, place you on leaderboards, and connect you with friends.
  • Enable co-op β€” match you into parties and relay real-time gameplay between players.
  • Improve the Game β€” diagnose bugs, balance difficulty, and improve performance and netcode.
  • Protect players β€” detect cheating, abuse, and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Legal compliance β€” meet obligations under applicable law.

4. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS SHARED

4.1 With Other Players

  • Nickname β€” visible on leaderboards, in friend lists, and in co-op lobbies.
  • Score / progress β€” visible on public leaderboards.
  • Co-op gameplay state β€” shared with the other players in your party for the duration of a session.

4.2 With Service Providers

  • Render β€” hosts our game server (progress, leaderboards, co-op relay).
  • Google Play β€” distributes the Game and processes in-app purchases (Game Points). Google is the merchant of record for purchases; its own privacy policy applies to the payment.

These providers process data only to deliver their service to us and are bound by their own privacy commitments.

4.3 We DON'T

  • Sell, rent, or trade your personal information
  • Share data with advertisers or data brokers
  • Use your data for third-party marketing

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by court order, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights and safety of players and the public.

5. DATA RETENTION

  • Active progress β€” retained while your device identifier remains in use, so you keep your progress.
  • Inactive data β€” progress tied to a device that has not connected for 24 months may be deleted.
  • Diagnostic logs β€” retained for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) then deleted or anonymized.
  • Legal records β€” retained only as long as required by law.

6. DATA SECURITY

  • Encryption in transit β€” all traffic between the Game and our server uses TLS/HTTPS.
  • Access controls β€” limited, role-based access to stored data.
  • Monitoring & updates β€” security patches applied promptly.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.

7. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access β€” request a copy of the data associated with your device/nickname.
  • Correct β€” change your nickname in-game at any time.
  • Delete β€” request deletion of your progress and associated data.
  • Object / Restrict β€” ask us to limit certain processing.

To exercise any of these, email fallofpentapolis@fineapps.gr with the subject PRIVACY β€” [your request]. Because the Game is anonymous, please include your in-game nickname so we can locate your data. We respond within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA).

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Fall of Pentapolis is a dark-fantasy action game intended for mature teen and adult audiences. It is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to play. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete it. Parents may contact fallofpentapolis@fineapps.gr with any concern.

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where it is, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and transmit all data encrypted.

10. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)

California residents may request to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. EUROPEAN PRIVACY RIGHTS (GDPR)

Our lawful bases for processing are contract performance (running the Game you asked to play) and legitimate interests (security, anti-cheat, and improvement). EU residents may lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority.

12. PURCHASES & GAME POINTS

The Game is free to play and offers optional in-app purchases of a virtual currency called Game Points (GP). All payments are processed by the Google Play store β€” we never receive or store your payment-card details. When you buy GP, Google Play provides us a purchase record (the product purchased, the amount of GP credited, a transaction identifier, and the time of purchase) so we can credit your account, verify the purchase, and prevent fraud. We retain these records as needed for accounting, customer support, and anti-fraud purposes. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Google Play under its policies. Some GP spends grant a randomly selected item ("Random Item"); the outcome is recorded with your game progress.

13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Game evolves. Material changes will be announced in-game or on this page, with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued play after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
